FoodBytes! by Rabobank
FoodBytes! by Rabobank is a next-generation pitch competition and networking platform that builds lasting connections between the most promising food and agriculture start-ups, corporates and investors, helping them pioneer a more sustainable future. The event was held in London on Thursday, 7th November 2019 at Victoria House Basement. The event ran over two days, where the companies invited attended workshops on the day prior to the pitching taking place.
The Companies
All of the contestants were picked from 38 countries, so it was quite the achievement to make the final 15. The 15 were: Plant Pops, Element Packaging, Nourished, Seaweed & Co., Borrago, N2 Applied, Else Nutrition, StixFresh, Zero Waste BioTech, Computomics, Fresh Check, DryGo, LLEAF Pty Ltd, Redefine Meat, and Trellis. All of the companies chosen were selected due to their innovation especially in regards to creating a more sustainable future.
The Pitch
Each company had 3 minutes to pitch their company and ideas to judges and attendees. Craig discussed seaweed and its sustainability, looking at products from both our PureSea and Weed & Wonderful range.
The Winners
The Judges Choice award went to Zero Waste Biotech.
The Highly Commended award went to LLEAF Pty Ltd.
The People’s Choice went to Redefine Meat.
